group or cluster inputs

Hello meshStack team,
we have several building blocks that require a large number of different inputs from users, covering a variety of areas.
For example, when creating a project (including a tenant):
Technical contact
Cost center owner
Planned workload duration
...
For example, when creating a virtual machine:
Name
Administrators
Update schedule
Backup schedule
...
Currently, all these input fields are simply listed one after another. Many users ask us what the information is actually used for, as the purpose isn't clear during the creation process.
I would therefore like the ability to group these inputs.
This would make it more transparent to users why specific information is required.
Please see the attached screenshot for reference.
Perhaps this is something that is easy to implement and other platform teams have a similar need.

Hi Lars — thanks a lot for taking the time to write this up (and for the screenshot). Totally get the pain: long, flat lists of inputs make it hard for users to understand the “why” during provisioning.
Grouping/sectioning inputs (e.g., “Tenant creation”, “Budget alerts”, “VM settings”, etc.) sounds like a great way to add clarity and reduce back-and-forth questions. We’ll share this with the meshStack team.
To help us understand what would work best for your use case:
1) Would you want simple visual sections (headings/dividers), or collapsible groups/accordions?
2) Should groups be defined per building block/service, or reused across multiple building blocks?
3) Do you also need short helper text per group/field (to explain what it’s used for), or is grouping alone enough?
If you have an example of how you’d name the groups for one of your real building blocks, feel free to paste it here—super helpful.

Hi Janny,
I was actually just thinking of a visual separator, but I really like your suggestion regarding the help text.
Perhaps it would be possible to implement the visual separator here and add a mouse-over element to it? Or maybe include the "?" icon—familiar from meshStack—next to the separator?
